DIY Sugar Lip Scrub
Posted by Erica from HonestlyWTF
This week we’re turning to our friend and beauty expert Sarah Howard, of Beauty Banter, who is indulging us with her delectable brown sugar lip scrub tutorial. Inspired by one of her favorite lip polishes, Sarah recently discovered how simple it was to make her own organic version at home. The timing couldn’t be more ideal as winter’s typically unforgiving weather has us yearning for soft and smooth lips! (PS Be sure to head over to Beauty Banter for our favorite beauty products & tips!)
You’ll need:
- pure coconut oil
- honey
- brown sugar
- a teaspoon
- a tablespoon
- a mixing bowl
- an empty jar or 2.5 oz baby food jar
- labels (optional)
Make sure that the coconut oil is solid enough to scoop up but soft enough for a spoon to dig in. If the coconut oil is too oily, stick it in the fridge for 10-20 minutes. If the coconut oil is too hard, place it into a sink filled with hot water for 5-10 minutes or until soft. Combine one well-rounded tablespoon of coconut oil with one tablespoon of honey into the bowl. Besides smelling and tasting incredible, coconut oil is actually an amazing natural ingredient for skin and body products. The oil contains fatty acids and antioxidants that moisturize and nourish the skin while honey contains cleansing and healing properties and is a natural binder.
Mix the coconut oil and honey until they bind together. The consistency should look like thick honey-comb honey. Make sure to mash up all of the coconut lumps so that the mixture is clump-free. This will serve as the base of the scrub.
Add two hand packed teaspoons of brown sugar and fold it into the base. Brown sugar not only tastes fantastic, it is also a great natural exfoliant because it’s not too harsh and leaves skin soft to the touch. All of the brown sugar should be coated in the coconut oil and honey base.
Add one teaspoon of just the oil from coconut oil jar into the bowl. This will help smooth out the mixture and make the scrub extra moisturizing. Transfer the scrub from the bowl into a small jar or container.
The edible scrub will last up to 2 weeks if refrigerated. Before using, allow the scrub to stand at room temperature for a good 10 minutes so that the formula softens a bit. Apply scrub to lips in small, circular motions for 1-2 minutes and rinse off with a warm washcloth. Congratulations – you are now armed with a soft, moisturized, and plump pout. Pucker up! xx, Sarah.

Emily & Fabolous: ‘Don’t Sleep On Us’
*via Necole Bitchie
If you are wondering if Love and Hip Hop’s Emily and her boo Fab are back together, she pretty much confirmed that they are together last night during the Love and Hip Hop reunion show. Since some of the girls didn’t want to be in the same room as each other this year (**coughs** Yandy and Chrissy), VH1 switched things up and had each girl do a one on one with executive producer Mona Scott Young.
During her sit down, Emily revealed that Fab admitted there was some form of sexual activity with he and Kimbella but it wasn’t sexual intercourse. She also said that they are still dating and he’s claiming her more than ever. After the show aired, she instagramed a pic of Fab sleeping on her chest with the caption ‘Don’t Sleep On Us’.
Check the excerpts from Emily’s sit down below:
On if she made a change this season
I made a change. I went out on my own regardless of the show and I went and got my own place.
On if she was still involved with Fab intimately?
Well no, not intimately for at least a year. After the first season I wasn’t dealing with him at all. I was like, “I don’t know if I want to be with you.”
On what it was like to be face-to-face with Kimbella after she found out that she slept with Fab
Prior to meeting Kimbella we had met before then. I met her years ago at a party in Atlanta and we have a mutual friend. [Kimbella] knew who I was so when she said she didn’t know who I was, that part was a looking shocking to me.
[Sidenote: During her interview, Kimbella claimed Emily was lying and that she had never met Emily prior to the show]
On if she talked to Fab about cheating with Kimbella
Yeah, we talked about it. He said that they never dated. He did say that they had a form of sex. He said that they didn’t have sexual intercourse but that doesn’t excuse the behavior. People always get mad at me thinking that I blamed her but no, not at all, I blame him.
Today where are Fab and Emily?
We are dating still. You know when I first came on I said, “Oh, he doesn’t claim me.” He’s doing all the claiming in the world now.
Is he claiming you?
He sure is. Before he was like the star and now we go out and people are like “Oh, hey Fab…HEY EMILY!!”
Who’s the bigger star?
No comment. (laughs)
Looks like a Fab and Emily spin off might be in the works…

Crayon Wildfire Sculptures by Herb Williams
'Unwanted Visitor: Portrait of Wildfire'
by Herb Williams
Making three dimensional sculptural works from hundreds of thousands of individual crayons, American artist Herb Williams is one of the few individuals who has an account with crayola. He orders each color of crayon necessary for a piece, all individually packed (3000 to a case).
Williams is interested in identifying objects that society perceives to associate with one role, and reintroduces them into different subtexts. with a desire to produce pieces on a grand scale, his most recent work is 'unwanted visitor: portrait of wildfire', an outdoor installation on display at the National Ranching Heritage Centre in Lubbock, Texas. The five free standing sculptures which are meant to emulate fires and flames - reminiscent of a wildfire. they have been created to raise awareness of wildfires in an area that has been
severely affected by drought, each of the pieces is composed of crayola crayons. because of their wax content, they begin to melt and change shape in the unpredictable outdoor conditions in which they stand. Their transformation is affected by blowing wind and dry conditions, much like those that affect the intensity and duration of real wildfire.
through the construction process, Williams bonds the paper - not the wax - to the internal structure he has carved or cast to completely envelope the shape. The structures range in height from three feet to eight feet.

Another Kim K scandal...
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are often pictured heading to the same events, and supporting each other's ventures but Amber Rose has claimed that there is more too and branded the reality star "a homewrecker".
Amber Rose has sensationally claimed that Kim cheated on Reggie Bush with Kanye West and that the rapper had cheated on her with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, causing their split.
The 28-year-old told Star magazine: "She's a homewrecker! They were both cheating. They were both cheating on me and Reggie with each other."
Amber describes how she caught the pair cheating and even tried to confront Kim, as she said: "She was sending pictures, and I was like, 'Kim, just stop. Don’t be that person'."
But the model was left disappointed when Kim did not respond to her and claimed that Kim is not one for sisterhood, however close she is to her sisters.
"I thought at least she’d be woman enough to respond to me. She never responded," she said. "It’s very important that us women stick together and we don’t f**k each other over like that."
Although Amber clearly holds a grudge against Kim, she admits that their alleged affair meant that she met her new love, rapper Wiz Khalifa.
"I want to thank her," she said. "Because if she was never a homewrecker, then I never would have met Wiz, and I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now."
Do you think Kim cheated on Reggie?
